About Shaykh Yahya Rhodus
Shaykh Yahya Rhodus is the founding director of Al-Maqasid, which aims to cultivate holistic learning environments rooted in knowledge, devotion, and service by providing full-time, seasonal, online, and community-based programs. Shaykh Yahya was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and embraced Islam at the age of 19 in Santa Clara, California. He began his study of Islam with Shaykh Hamza Yusuf and visiting Mauritanian scholars. In 1998, Shaykh Yahya began his travels to pursue Islamic studies overseas. He has learned from some of Mauritania’s greatest scholars, including the distinguished Murabit al-Hajj. At the prestigious learning institute Dar al-Mustafa in Tarim, Yemen, he studied with the renowned scholars Habib ‘Umar bin Hafiz and Habib ‘Ali al-Jifri, among others. He travels regularly, teaching, translating, and conducting weekend seminars, and offers online instruction through SeekersHub and Al-Maqasid.
About Imam Amin Muhammad
Imam Amin Muhammad currently serves as the imam of Masjid Muhammad of Atlantic City, NJ, and a resident scholar at Al-Maqasid. Imam Amin is a native of Atlantic City, NJ, who has studied with traditional Shuyukh from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Lebanon. Among the scholars he has benefitted greatly from are Shaykh Walid Ar-Rifa’i, Shaykh Jamal Zahabi, Shaykh Samer An-Nass, Shaykh Salahud-Din Al-Idlibiyy, Shaykh Abdullah bin Bayyah, Shaykh Abdullah bin Ali Basfar, and others. He has studied many of the Islamic sciences, including ‘Aqidah, Fiqh, Tafsir, Sirah, Hadith, and Hadith methodology. Presently, Imam Amin teaches Hadith, Fiqh, and delivers Jumu’ah khutbah at Masjid Muhammad in Atlantic City, NJ. He also teaches and lectures at various mosques in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware, and serves as an advisor at M.E.C.C.A., the Muslim Education and Converts Center of America, in New York, NY.
